Lipson & Jessy
Every couple has a vision for their wedding day, and for Lipson and Jessy, intimate sophistication was the top of their wish list after two years of planning. Inspired by the cold tones of winter weddings, their wedding was minimalist sleek and modern with royal blue, plum purple, black and silver as the colour theme and number '9' as the significant element throughout.
09.09.09 wasn't just a novelty wedding date. The number 9 represented the 9th year of couplehood and a significant milestone of their lives. Using this important detail as the basis for conceptualisation, two 9's were combined into one as their logo. It represented the wedding date, the anniversary year of their relationship and a symbol of love, as 9-9 is an auspicious combination which represents longevity and eternal love in Chinese.
Dinner Reception
Size of function: 160 guests
When Lipson, a high-flying successful financial planner, and Jessy decided to marry, they knew that they'd host a small luxe wedding with just a handful of their closest friends and relatives, and not a large grand wedding that most have come to expect. It was indeed intimate and personalized, complete with individual place cards for all 160 guests.
The reception started with a pre-dinner cocktail, with a variety of canapés and a generous mix of beverage menu. A short blessing ceremony was held on-stage before the dinner. With the gentle tunes of the harp to the song "Come What May", Jessy marched-in with her beloved father and all of her four sisters. For the second part of the dinner, Jessy wore a gorgeous silver cheong sam by Micky Tan and Lipson wore a white Mandarin silk blouse (another departure from tradition as white is a major 'boo' in Chinese customs for weddings). It was the perfect contrast to the black fondant wedding cake on-stage. Lavender-coloured heart-shaped chocolates were given away as favours in silver tin boxes along with lavender scented candles.
Jessy and Lipson had their pre-wedding photos taken at Maldives. Since they could not have the 'beach wedding' they wanted, we used the heavenly landscape of their photo as the screen backdrop in the ballroom as well as the photo for their magnetic thank you cards. Custom-made gobos projected their logo onto the backdrop and around the ballroom.
