Cindy & Darren | Peranakan

With 3 weeks to go before the big day, Darren & Cindy decided that they needed a wedding stylist for the Peranakan décor and wedding day coordinator for the wedding weekend, especially since a large group of Cindy’s relatives will be arriving from Indonesia to attend the wedding. We allocated coordinator at respective hotels to oversee the check-in and pick up of overseas guests to the wedding locations. The bridal fetch and tea ceremony was held a day before the actual reception at Little Heritage, followed by a Catholic ceremony at St Francis Xavier Church and a dinner reception at Hilton Kuala Lumpur the day after. Audrey & Llewellyn | Come for the love

With a verdant scenery and architecture modelled after 12th century medieval ‘Haut Koenigsbourg’ castle in Alsace, the outdoor location of this beautiful wedding ceremony called for a timeless look in neutral colours and design.

Click here to view the Dinner Reception

Adrian & Lydia | Garden of Eden

Lydia sets the perfect example of a reverend’s daughter. Not only is she warm and kind-hearted, she’s graceful and incredibly godly. She believes that her life is authored, penned and directed by her Maker, and she knows there is no greater joy than a life lived under His love and His lordship. So it didn’t come as a surprise when they chose this verse from the Bible for their wedding “We love because He first loved us.”

Adrian and Lydia wanted a garden concept but wasn’t sure if they could pull it off at Cheras Baptist Church with an interior similar to that of a commercial building. After several meetings and through gaining a further understanding of their taste, background and personality, we conceptualised Garden of Eden, carrying the theme through their website and invitations. Regal purple was injected into the design through the flowers which lend a softer finishing to the overall look. The hall was instantaneously transformed into an oasis of flowers with soft fabric, wild flowers arrangement style and potted plants. Our wedding planner went hunting for bridesmaids’ gown fabric together with the couple and ultimately decided on grey for the bridesmaids and plum purple for the maid of honours.

There was also the challenge of space constraint and not having an exact number of confirmed attendees. With Lydia’s father being the reverend of the church, we couldn’t limit the number of invitees as it was an open invitation to all church members, on top of the invitees from the groom’s side of family. Ultimately, live feed cameras had to be installed so that those who couldn’t fit in the hall could watch it from another room.

For the food, we went with a French-themed standing reception catered by Natalie’s Gourmet Studio and a Garden Breakfast-themed dessert bar. Since both Adrian and Lydia are doctors and they met for the first time at a hospital where they we both doing their fellowship, we subtly incorporated this detail via the wedding favours, whereby guests were ‘prescribed’ with floral tea packed in tube containers with the following doctor’s prescription “Tea for two to warm the heart and the words of God to warm the soul. Consume daily with affection and steadfastness.”

The dinner reception was held on that same day at Doubletree by Hilton. Click here to read all about it and be inspired by their story.

Eu Wing & Bee Fong | Summer Backyard

Often times, the wedding schedule is so packed that couples are constantly rushing from point to point during the wedding day. From the make up to the gate-crashing to the ceremony, then rehearsal, dress change and so forth. During the dinner, you rush from table to table without knowing the guests or having the time to even speak to your friends. Time flies and before you know it, it is time to thank the guests and retreat to the bridal suite.

A wedding day should be one of those days that is slow enough to soak in the little details that you’ve been obsessing over for the past 9 months yet exciting and joyous, allowing you to drink, laugh, chit chat and connect with your guests. Savour the food, drink up the moments and just leave the planners and coordinators to worry about the running of the show.

The wedding of Eu-Wing and Bee Fong is a perfect reflection of that laissez-faire approach, as evident from these beautiful photos captured by Dennis Yap Photography. With the both of them based in the UK and their busy schedule as doctors, we only met the bride once during the planning period and worked alongside Bee Fong’s sister who helped coordinate everything from Penang. The wedding day programme was so free and easy that even the bridal party had time to squeeze in a little frolicking in the pool in between the rehearsal and make up. They are the nicest couple we have ever worked with that even the cloudy weather held up for them till the very moment everyone moved indoors for the dinner reception.

Read more at:

Vintage garden wedding at Saujana (The Wedding Notebook)

Destination wedding in Malaysia (Signature Weddings Asia)

Derek & Linda | Love for all Seasons

This Four Seasons movie-themed wedding was all about celebrating their love, and we do mean... in a really sweet, sweep-you-off-your-feet kind of way. The 'set' took place at the scenic Cyberview Lodge Resort and Jesus Caritas Church, and it was infused with an endless string of lovey-dovey details and surprises which made them oh-so-meaningful! The day started off with Spring, for it is in the spirit of Spring that sets all things new in life and love. Then came Summer at the garden ceremony, which was decked with beautiful paper lanterns and pink parasols. The bridal car was driven right into the garden, accompanied by the beautiful song Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

After the garden ceremony, guests head over for some Winter Romance in the ballroom, as the evening opened with a preview of romance movies which the couple had watched together. In fact, all the tables were named after their favourite romance movies. Needless to say, the party unofficially started from the time Derek and Linda broke into a surprise dance to Right Said Fred's I'm too Sexy just moments after they march-in and took their first dance as husband and wife. It set the right tone for the evening. Towards the end of the dinner, our wedding coordinators changed the ballroom ambience to 'Autumn Heat' as the dee jay pumped up the volume to some groovy dance hits. Even with such a hectic schedule, Bob Nicolas, the cinematographer from the Philippines, managed to capture all the beautiful moments, edited it within hours for it to be played at the end of the dinner as the closing movie to signify the start of a beautiful marriage.

Jo Han & Ur Cheng | Farmer's Market

The wedding ceremony was inspired by Ur Cheng and Jo Han’s fondness for the English Farmers Market. The ceremony was kept simple in shades of purple with an understated gazebo and minimal touch of flowers.
